The Radian Raptor-SD-SL is a slim-line, gas-deflecting ambidextrous charging handle for AR-15 and M4 rifles, machined from 7075 aluminium and fitting any Mil-Spec AR-15/M4 upper receiver.

Gas-deflecting and slim-line — the Raptor-SD-SL pairs the vented shaft with lower-profile levers for suppressed builds that want a cleaner silhouette.

The Radian Raptor-SD-SL combines the gas-deflecting vented shaft of the SD with slim-line (SL) levers that sit closer to the receiver. You get the suppressed-build blowback control of the SD in a lower-profile, snag-resistant package, with the same true ambidextrous dual-lever charging and 7075 aluminium build.

A UK straight-pull AR-15 is cycled by hand on every shot, which makes the charging handle the busiest control on the rifle. Dual levers let you work the action with either hand without giving up your firing grip, the vented shaft keeps gas and fouling out of your face on an action you are opening constantly, and the slim levers stay clear of kit between strokes.

What do the SD and SL parts of the name mean?

SD is the gas-deflecting vented shaft, which pushes blowback forward and away from your face instead of back into it — the reason to choose it if you shoot suppressed. SL is the slim-line lever profile, which sits closer to the receiver so the handle is less likely to catch on a sling, a bag or your kit. You get both in one handle, with the usual true dual-lever ambidextrous charging.

How does it compare with the standard Raptor?

The standard Raptor has full-size levers and no vented shaft, and is the one to buy for an unsuppressed rifle where you want the largest gripping surface. The SD-SL is the suppressed-build answer in a lower profile, supplied in black. Both are 7075 aluminium and both sit in charging handles and safety selectors.

Is fitting straightforward?

Yes — it’s a drop-in swap with no tools beyond your hands. The factory handle comes out and the Raptor-SD-SL goes in exactly the same way, with nothing on the upper receiver needing modification.
