Ambidextrous AR-15 Controls: Charging Handles & Safety Selectors

Your charging handle and safety selector are the two controls you touch most — and the two the factory does most cheaply. Upgrading both makes your AR faster, smoother and genuinely ambidextrous. Here's what matters, from our Charging Handles & Safety Selectors collection.

Why ambidextrous matters (even for right-handers)

A truly ambidextrous charging handle isn't just for lefties. It lets you charge the rifle with either hand — essential when working around barricades, running an optic-mounted setup, or clearing a malfunction with your firing hand still on the grip. Factory mil-spec handles only latch on one side and can flex or snag under one-sided pressure.

The benchmark: Radian Raptor

The Radian Raptor is the ambidextrous charging handle other designs are measured against. Machined from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminium with a true dual-lever design, it supports rapid palm-blading from either side or traditional finger-and-thumb charges — smooth, snag-free and brutally strong. It drops into any Mil-Spec AR-15 upper in seconds.

Safety selectors: 45° or 90° throw

The Radian Talon 45/90 replaces your factory safety with a precision-machined ambidextrous lever you can configure for the standard 90° throw or a faster 45° short throw. The short throw means less thumb travel from safe to fire — a small change you'll feel on every single rep.

Do both at once

The Raptor + Talon combo bundles both upgrades in one box with matched Radian machining — the complete ambidextrous control package in a single install.
