The EOTech G45 is a 5x magnifier that sits behind a holographic or red dot sight, and G45.STS is the black version supplied on EOTech's Switch-to-Side quick-detach mount.
Five times is the most magnification EOTech put behind a holographic sight. It is the difference between seeing that something is out there and knowing what it is.
The aluminium body measures 3.9 x 2.3 x 3.3 in (99 x 58.4 x 83.8 mm) and weighs 12.8 oz (362.9 g) complete with the STS mounting system, which clamps to a 1in Weaver or MIL-STD-1913 rail with a quick-detach lever. Eye relief is 2.6 in (66 mm), the dioptre ring is adjustable to suit the individual eye, and windage and elevation are corrected without tools. EOTech state it is assembled in the USA and give the field of view as 4 degrees.
The magnifier has no reticle of its own; it enlarges whatever the sight in front of it is projecting, so the zero stays with the sight and the G45 simply swings aside when 1x is wanted again. What 5x costs is length, mass and a narrow 4 degree field, which is why plenty of shooters still choose a 3x behind a fast holographic sight. If most of your shooting is close and quick, that is the honest recommendation.

What the G45 fits
It goes behind a holographic or red dot sight on a 1in Weaver or MIL-STD-1913 rail, with enough rail left behind the sight for the mount.
