The EOTech G45 is a 5x magnifier for use behind a holographic or red dot sight, and this is G45.STSTAN: the Tan finish supplied on EOTech's Switch-to-Side quick-detach mount.
Five times is the most magnification EOTech put behind a holographic sight, and it changes what the rifle can be asked to do — identifying a target at distance rather than merely hitting a shape you already know is there.
EOTech give the eye relief as 2.6 in (66 mm), the length as 3.9 in and the weight as 12.8 oz (363 g) with the mount fitted, over a 4 degree field of view. Windage and elevation are adjusted without tools, the housing is sealed to 33 ft (10 m), and the STS base clamps to a 1in Weaver or MIL-STD-1913 rail and swings the magnifier clear of the sight when it is not wanted. It is assembled in the USA and finished in Tan.
A magnifier has no reticle of its own; it enlarges whatever the sight in front of it is projecting, so the aiming point stays exactly where it was zeroed. The cost of 5x is real: a narrower field of view, a longer body and more weight hanging off the back of the rail than a 3x unit, and the eye box is less forgiving. If most of your shooting is inside 100 yards, a 3x magnifier is the easier optic to live with.
