Buy this version only if you already have somewhere to put it — an STS mount, a third-party flip-to-side, or an offset base you have chosen yourself.
It is a 3x magnifier of roughly 3.1 in (78.7 mm) by 2.3 in by 3.3 in, weighing about 11.3 oz (320 g), with tool-free vertical and horizontal adjustment for centring the dot and a 7.5 degree field of view. EOTech assembles it in the USA.
A magnifier has no reticle of its own; it enlarges whatever the sight in front of it is projecting, so a 1 MOA dot stays 1 MOA in angular terms and simply looks bigger. Eye relief is about 2.5 in (63.5 mm), which is generous for a magnifier and forgiving if your head position moves between positions. The short body is the practical argument for a G43 over a longer 3x: on a crowded rail there is less to fit behind the sight. EOTech publishes only one weight figure for the G43, so treat 11.3 oz as covering the optic as sold rather than as a bare-body number.
