The SureFire UE-TN is a socketed rear cap in Desert Tan that converts a Scout Light to remote-only operation, taking a plug-in tape switch in place of a push-button tailcap.
It is a remote-only cap by design. There is no button on the back of it, so the only way to work the light is the tape switch you plug in — which is exactly what you want when the switch lives on the handguard where your support hand sits.
SureFire machine it from aerospace aluminium with a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodised finish, and it includes their lock-out feature so the light cannot be switched on in a bag or a slip. It fits Scout Light WeaponLights and flashlights with a 0.75 in diameter switch, which SureFire list as including the E1E-HA, E1B, E1L-HA-WH, E2D-BK, E2DL-BK, E2L-HA-WH and L4-HA-WH.
Fitting is a matter of unscrewing the existing cap and screwing this one on, and the socket then accepts a SureFire tape switch. Two things to know before ordering: the tape switch itself is not included with the cap, and it is not compatible with the Micro Scout Light Pro. Desert Tan matches SureFire's tan bodies and tan furniture rather than a black light, so pick the colour to suit the light it is going on.
