The SureFire DS00 Scout Light Tailcap Switch is a push-button switching tailcap in black that replaces the standard tailcap on a SureFire weapon light.
It is a tailcap and nothing else — no cable, no pad, no tape to route along the handguard, just thumb activation at the back of the light.
It screws onto the light in place of the existing tailcap by hand, with no tools involved. SureFire describes it as a versatile, adaptable switch assembly for most of its weapon lights, with the Micro Scout Light Pro named as the exception.
A light press gives momentary light and a full press latches it constant-on, which is the pattern most people want when the light is close enough to reach with a thumb. The receptacle also accepts SureFire’s ST07, SR07 and SR07-D-IT remote tape switches, sold separately, and SureFire states that the integrated and remote switches operate independently of each other. The honest limitation is that on a long handguard with the light mounted well forward, a remote pad is easier to reach than any tailcap.

What the DS00 fits
It replaces the tailcap on most SureFire weapon lights, the Micro Scout Light Pro aside, so it suits Scout Light bodies already on a rifle as well as a light bought without a switch.
