The SureFire DS07 is a complete switching assembly for Scout Light weapon lights, combining the DS00 waterproof switching tailcap with a remote pressure pad on a cable of roughly 7 in (17.8 cm).
A tailcap and a remote pad in one part number, so a light mounted forward on the handguard can be run from where your hand already sits.
The DS00 tailcap is built in rather than sold alongside, which is what makes this a complete assembly: it screws onto the light and the pad plugs into it. The tailcap carries a click-type pushbutton for on and off, the plug-in pad gives momentary light, and the two work independently of each other. SureFire seals the assembly with O-rings and includes a system-disable feature. Finish is black.
The case for a remote is simple: on a rifle with the light set well forward, reaching the tailcap means breaking your grip. Mount the pad where the support hand rests and the light comes on without moving. Because the DS00 pushbutton stays available, there is still a positive constant-on control at the rear of the light if the pad is knocked loose or you would rather not rely on it. Fitment covers the M300, M340, M600 and M640 Scout Light families, with the Micro Scout Light Pro the one exception SureFire names.

Scout Light bodies in the M300, M340, M600 and M640 families, which covers most of the SureFire rifle lights on this site; the Micro Scout Light Pro is the one exception. If a dual pad suits the build better, the DS-SR07 is the alternative, and for a tailcap on its own with no cable there is the DS00 in black.
