Product Overview

The Reptilia Low Height DOT Mount is a slim Picatinny optic mount for the Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner MPS, made for rifles and subguns where the rail already sits high.

Reptilia's low option, for the rifle that does not need any more height. 39 g, 3.1in long, one footprint.

Reptilia describe it plainly: a lightweight, slim-line mount that allows co-witness with back-up iron sights on subguns and on AKs that carry a Picatinny rail above the gas tube. It is machined from Type III hardcoat anodised 7075 aluminium with nitrided 4140 steel hardware, measures 3.1in (79 mm) overall, and weighs 39 g (1.4 oz).

Reptilia publish no numeric height for this mount — only that it is their low-height option — so we are not going to print a figure that would look precise and be invented. What they do publish is what it is for: a rail that is already elevated by the host firearm, where a standard 39mm or 1.93in mount would push the optic higher than the shooter's cheek can follow. Made in the USA.

Why shooters choose the Low Height DOT Mount

  • Reptilia's low-height option — for hosts whose rail already sits high, with no published figure to misquote
  • ACRO footprint — Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2 and the Steiner MPS, mounted direct
  • 39 g (1.4 oz) — the lightest DOT Mount Reptilia make for the ACRO footprint
  • 3.1in (79 mm) overall — a slim body that keeps the rail either side of it usable
  • Type III hardcoat anodised — 7075 aluminium with nitrided 4140 steel hardware

What the Low Height DOT Mount fits

Fits the Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2 and the Steiner MPS, on an M1913 Picatinny rail. Reptilia intend it for subguns and for AK-pattern rifles that carry a Picatinny rail above the gas tube, where the host has already raised the rail and a standard-height mount would put the optic too high. Reptilia publish no numeric bore height for this mount and neither will we — if your build needs an exact figure, measure your rail and ask Reptilia. On a conventional AR-15 flat-top you almost certainly want the 39mm lower 1/3 version or the 1.93in version instead.

Product Questions

How low is low?
Reptilia do not publish a figure, and we will not invent one. They describe it as their low-height DOT Mount and say what it is for: hosts whose rail is already elevated, such as subguns and AKs with a Picatinny rail above the gas tube. If your build hinges on an exact bore height, measure your rail and put the question to Reptilia rather than to a retailer's estimate.
Will it co-witness with my iron sights?
Reptilia say it allows co-witness with back-up iron sights on the hosts it was designed for — subguns and AKs with a rail over the gas tube — because those rails already sit at a height where a low mount lines up. On a conventional AR-15 flat-top the geometry is different, so do not assume the same result there.
Which optics fit?
Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2, and the Steiner MPS. That is the ACRO footprint and nothing else. Reptilia make separate DOT Mounts for the Aimpoint Micro, Trijicon MRO, RMR/SRO, Holosun 509T and Holosun AEMS footprints; a mount cut for one will not take an optic from another.
Is this the same as the offset mount?
No. This one sits the optic straight above the rail at a low height. The Offset DOT Mount carries the same optic at 50° from vertical beside a magnified scope. Same footprint, completely different jobs.
How will it arrive?
Optic mounts are sent from the United Kingdom with £5 tracked UK delivery in 7–10 business days, and you'll get tracking by email when it ships. If a part turns out to be the wrong fit, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
