Product Overview

The Reptilia DOT Mount is a one-piece Picatinny optic mount for the Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner MPS, holding the optic at Reptilia's 39mm lower 1/3 height, listed by the trade as 1.54in bore height.

Cut for the ACRO footprint and set at one height. There is no dial, no spacer and no adapter plate — which is the entire point.

Machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminium in Type III hardcoat anodising, the DOT Mount clamps to any M1913 Picatinny rail with a spring-loaded nitrided 4140 steel clamp. Clamp and bolt sit flush with the body for a low-profile, anti-snag shape, and the assembly weighs 57 g (2.0 oz).

At the 39mm height, standard AR-15 back-up iron sights appear in the lower third of the ACRO's window, so the irons are available without covering the sight picture. The ACRO's enclosed emitter is the reason a lot of shooters choose it in British weather — nothing can bridge the emitter and the lens because the housing is sealed — and a mount with a single fixed interface keeps that reliability argument intact. Made in the USA.

Why shooters choose the Lower 1/3 DOT Mount for Aimpoint ACRO

  • ACRO footprint — cut for the Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2 and the Steiner MPS, with no adapter plate in the stack
  • 39mm / 1.54in bore height — lower 1/3 co-witness with standard AR-15 back-up iron sights
  • Spring-loaded steel clamp — nitrided 4140 steel, flush with the body, nothing proud to snag
  • 57 g (2.0 oz) — billet 7075-T6 aluminium, Type III hardcoat anodised
  • One-piece body — fewer joints between the optic and the rail, so fewer places for zero to move

What the Lower 1/3 DOT Mount for Aimpoint ACRO fits

Fits the Aimpoint ACRO P1, ACRO P2 and ACRO C2, and the Steiner MPS — any red dot using the ACRO footprint — on any M1913 Picatinny rail, including the flat-top upper of a UK straight-pull AR-15. Footprint and height are both fixed: ACRO footprint, Reptilia 39mm (1.54in) lower 1/3 height. If you want the tall head-up sightline instead, the 1.93in ACRO DOT Mount is the same footprint higher up, and the low-height ACRO DOT Mount goes the other way for subguns and gas-tube AK rails. An Aimpoint Micro will not fit this mount.

Product Questions

Is this the same as the 1.93in ACRO mount?
No. Same footprint, different height, and neither converts into the other. This one sets the optic at Reptilia's 39mm height — 1.54in bore height — for a lower 1/3 co-witness. The 1.93in version raises the sightline for a head-up position. Buy on height, because the footprint is identical.
Does the Steiner MPS really fit?
Yes. The MPS uses the ACRO footprint, so it mounts on the same interface with the same screws. Reptilia list both optics against this mount. Any other miniature red dot advertised as ACRO-footprint will also sit on it, but check the maker's own wording rather than assuming from the shape of the housing.
Why choose an enclosed-emitter dot in the first place?
An enclosed emitter puts the LED inside a sealed housing rather than facing an open lens, so rain, mud and lint cannot sit between the emitter and the glass and dim the dot. In British conditions that is a practical difference rather than a marketing one. The mount does not change that either way — it just holds the optic at a fixed height with as few parts as possible.
Will my back-up sights co-witness?
Standard AR-15 back-up iron sights will appear in the lower third of the ACRO window at this height, which is what lower 1/3 co-witness means. Sights of non-standard height, or a rifle with a raised rail, will sit differently, so check yours against the optic before ordering rather than after.
How will it arrive?
