The Reptilia DOT Mount is a one-piece Picatinny optic mount for the Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner MPS, placing the optical axis 1.93in (49 mm) above the rail.

The tall sightline for an enclosed-emitter dot. One footprint, one height, one machined part between the optic and the rail.

Machined from billet 7075 aluminium and Type III hardcoat anodised, the 1.93 DOT Mount attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail through a spring-loaded nitrided 4140 steel clamp. The clamp and mounting bolt sit flush with the body for a low-profile, anti-snag shape. It weighs 60 g (2.1 oz).

At 1.93in the dot meets your eye with your head upright, rather than after you press your cheek into the stock. That suits a deliberate, slow-fire style on a UK straight-pull AR-15, and it leaves clearance for eye protection, a helmet or a night vision device behind the optic. The ACRO's sealed housing keeps working in weather that fogs an open emitter. Made in the USA.

Fits the Aimpoint ACRO P1, ACRO C1, ACRO P2 and ACRO C2 and the Steiner MPS, on any M1913 Picatinny rail including the flat-top upper of a UK straight-pull AR-15. Footprint and height are fixed: ACRO footprint at a 1.93in optical axis. Standard AR-15 back-up iron sights sit below the window at this height and will not co-witness — for that, use the 39mm lower 1/3 ACRO DOT Mount. An Aimpoint Micro, Trijicon MRO or RMR will not fit this mount.

How does 1.93in change the way the rifle handles?

It raises the sightline about 10 mm above the usual lower 1/3 position, so you find the dot with your head upright instead of down on the stock. Most shooters find that easier to hold across a long deliberate string, and it stops a helmet or bulky eye protection from fighting the cheek weld. Nothing else about the rifle changes.

Which ACRO models does it take?

Aimpoint ACRO P1, C1, P2 and C2, plus the Steiner MPS, which uses the same footprint. That is the full list Reptilia publish for this mount. Any other red dot advertised as ACRO-footprint should also sit on it, but confirm with the optic maker rather than judging by the shape of the housing.

Can I use it with back-up iron sights?

Not as a co-witness. At 1.93in standard AR-15 irons fall below the optic window, so you would be switching sighting systems rather than seeing both at once. If you want the irons visible through the dot, buy the lower 1/3 version instead. Reptilia do not supply a spacer to convert between the two heights.

Is there a lower option than the 39mm mount?

Yes. Reptilia also make a low-height ACRO DOT Mount intended for subguns and rifles where a gas tube sits under the rail. Reptilia publish no numeric height for that one, only that it is their low option, so treat it as a different product rather than a measured step down from this one.
