Product Overview

The Reptilia Offset DOT Mount is a Picatinny optic mount for the Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner MPS that carries the red dot at 50° from vertical, beside the main optic rather than above it.

A second sight picture without a second rifle. Roll the gun, the dot is there, and the scope keeps the zero you set for distance.

Reptilia designed the Offset DOT Mount as a secondary sighting system for rapid target engagement. It is machined from Type III hardcoat anodised 7075 aluminium with nitrided 4140 steel hardware, weighs 61 g (2.2 oz), and is reversible, so it can be fitted to either side of the rail for a right-handed or a left-handed shooter.

Reptilia publish the angle — 50° from vertical — but do not publish a bore height for this mount, and we are not going to guess one. What matters in use is the roll: the rifle rotates through a fixed angle and the dot is already aligned, so the transition costs you a movement rather than a mount change. On a UK straight-pull AR-15 wearing a magnified optic, that is the answer to the target that appears at 25 m. Made in the USA.

Why shooters choose the Offset DOT Mount

  • 50° from vertical — Reptilia's published angle, so the roll to the dot is the same every time
  • Reversible — fits either side of the rail, for a right-handed or a left-handed shooter
  • ACRO footprint — Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2 and the Steiner MPS, mounted direct
  • 61 g (2.2 oz) — Type III hardcoat anodised 7075 aluminium with nitrided 4140 steel hardware
  • Independent zero — the offset dot keeps a close-range zero while the main optic keeps yours

What the Offset DOT Mount fits

Fits the Aimpoint ACRO P1, P2 and C2 and the Steiner MPS, on any M1913 Picatinny rail — typically alongside a magnified optic on the flat-top upper of a UK straight-pull AR-15. The optic footprint is fixed and the mounting angle is fixed at 50° from vertical. Reptilia publish no bore height figure for this mount, so plan the fit around your rail space and your scope body rather than around a number. If you want the dot directly above the rail instead of offset from it, the 1.93in ACRO DOT Mount is the straight-up version.

Product Questions

How high does it sit?
Reptilia publish the angle — 50° from vertical — but they do not publish a bore height for the Offset DOT Mount, so we are not quoting one. In practice the height that matters is where the dot ends up relative to your eye when the rifle is rolled, and that depends on your rail, your scope and your stock. If you need a figure for a build, ask Reptilia directly rather than working from a number a retailer has estimated.
Left or right side?
Either. The mount is reversible, so the same part serves a right-handed shooter rolling the rifle inboard and a left-handed shooter doing the mirror image. Decide which way you roll before you fit it, because swapping sides means taking the mount off the rail.
Why 50 degrees rather than 45?
Because that is the angle Reptilia machined it at. The practical effect of a slightly steeper roll is that the offset optic clears a larger scope body and the head moves less, but the honest answer is that 50° is a design decision rather than a specification you choose between — this mount comes at one angle.
Does the dot share the scope's zero?
No, and it should not. Zero the offset dot for close range and leave the magnified optic zeroed for distance, so you are switching sight pictures rather than re-dialling. Confirm both zeros after fitting, as you would with any mount that has just gone onto a rail.
How will it arrive?
Optic mounts are sent from the United Kingdom with £5 tracked UK delivery in 7–10 business days, and you'll get tracking by email when it ships. If a part turns out to be the wrong fit, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
