Product Overview

The Radian Raptor 7.62 is an ambidextrous charging handle for AR-10, SR25 and 7.62/.308 rifles, machined from 7075 aluminium and fitting large-frame AR-10/SR25-pattern upper receivers.

Raptor control, sized for the big-bore platform — true ambidextrous charging for AR-10 / SR25 / 7.62 rifles.

The Radian Raptor for 7.62 brings the same true dual-lever, charge-from-either-side design to large-frame AR-10 / SR25-pattern rifles. Machined from 7075 aluminium to handle the extra bolt mass and recoil of .308/7.62, it delivers smooth, positive charging from either side and shrugs off the torque that breaks standard handles.

On a UK straight-pull large-frame rifle that strength is the whole point. A straight-pull is cycled by hand on every shot, so the charging handle is the control you use more than any other — and on a .308 it is moving a heavier bolt carrier against a stiffer spring every time. Dual levers let you work the action with either hand without breaking your firing grip.

What the Raptor 7.62 fits

Drops into AR-10 / SR25-pattern (7.62 / .308) upper receivers exactly like the factory handle — no tools required. It is not compatible with AR-15 uppers; if you need the small-frame version, see the Raptor for AR-15. Will the Raptor 7.62 fit my rifle?

It drops into AR-10 / SR25-pattern (7.62 / .308) upper receivers exactly like the factory handle, with no tools required. It is not compatible with AR-15 uppers — the small-frame version is the Raptor for AR-15. Large-frame patterns vary between manufacturers, so contact us with the make and model if your rifle is an unusual build.

What makes it ambidextrous?

It uses dual levers, one on each side of the handle, so you can charge the rifle from either side with a blade, a palm or a full grasp. Both levers work the same way, so there is nothing to swap over or set up before you run it. On a UK straight-pull large-frame rifle, where the action is cycled by hand on every shot, that means the most-used control on the gun works whichever hand is free.

Why does it have to be the 7.62 version?

AR-10 and SR25-pattern rifles use a larger receiver and a heavier bolt carrier than an AR-15, so this handle is dimensioned for the big-bore platform and machined from 7075 aluminium to take the extra mass and recoil. A small-frame handle will not fit and would not be built for the loads. The rest of the large-frame range is in AR-10 and LR-308 parts.

Is fitting straightforward?

Yes — it’s a drop-in swap. The factory handle comes out and the Raptor goes in exactly the same way, with no permanent changes to the rifle and no tools required. Nothing on the upper receiver needs modifying to take it, so cycle the action a few times dry afterwards and it’s done.
