The Primary Arms SLx 5X MicroPrism is a fixed 5x prism scope with the ACSS Aurora reticle etched into the glass in the MIL version, illuminated in red.
Because the reticle is etched rather than projected, it stays sharp for eyes that see an LED red dot as a smear or a double image — and it is still there when the battery is flat.
Illumination runs from one CR2032 rated at 29,000 hours, with AutoLive motion sensing waking it and night-vision compatible settings at the bottom of the range. The turrets are exposed, low-profile and tool-adjustable, moving in 1/4 MOA clicks across 50 MOA of total elevation and 50 MOA of total windage. Eye relief is 2.70 in, the exit pupil is 5.1 mm, field of view is 21.0 ft at 100 yards and the scope weighs 8.5 oz (241 g).
A fixed 5x in a body this size is a genuinely useful mid-range optic for target work, stalking and service-rifle shooting, and the Aurora MIL grid ranges, holds elevation and holds wind in milliradians rather than being cut for one cartridge. The honest limitation is fixed magnification: 5x is too much for a close, fast target, and eye relief at 2.70 in demands a consistent head position.
