The Primary Arms SLx 1X MicroPrismT, part 710080, is an unmagnified prism scope with the ACSS Cyclops Gen II reticle etched into the glass and illuminated in green, built on the H1/T1 micro-dot footprint.
If red dots look like a comet, a smear or a double image to you, the problem is your eye rather than the optic. A prism resolves an etched reticle through its own corrected optical path, so it comes out as a clean horseshoe rather than a mess.
Illumination runs green from a CR2032 cell, rated by Primary Arms at up to 45,000 hours, with 13 brightness settings and AutoLive motion sensing to handle the switching for you. Turrets move in 1 MOA per click with 120 MOA of elevation and 120 MOA of windage travel. Exit pupil is 15.6 mm and the finish is black; the whole optic weighs 5.5 oz (156 g). Primary Arms do not publish an objective size, a field of view, a length or a sealing rating for this model, so none of those appear here.
The reticle being etched rather than projected has a second consequence beyond astigmatism: it does not go away. Switch the illumination off, or flatten the cell, and the Cyclops Gen II is still there as a black reticle to shoot with. Green plays to the eye's peak sensitivity, which tells against hedgerow and woodland backgrounds and usually lets you work a setting or two lower than red would need. The honest limit of any prism at this size is eye box — it is less forgiving of a sloppy head position than an unmagnified red dot, so mount it where your cheek naturally lands.
Why shooters choose the SLx 1X MicroPrismT
-
Reticle — ACSS Cyclops Gen II, etched into the glass and usable with the illumination off
-
Astigmatism — resolved through the optic's own focusing system, so it stays sharp where an LED dot smears
-
Illumination — green, 13 brightness settings, with AutoLive motion sensing
-
Power — one CR2032 cell, rated up to 45,000 hours
-
Turrets — 1 MOA per click with 120 MOA of elevation and 120 MOA of windage
-
Size — 5.5 oz (156 g), 15.6 mm exit pupil, black finish
What the SLx 1X MicroPrismT fits
It uses the H1/T1 micro-dot bolt pattern, which is the most widely supported footprint in the mount trade, so the mounts made for micro red dots apply here too — see optic mounts and our optic mount height guide for choosing a deck height. The same optic is offered with red Cyclops Gen II illumination, with a simpler T-Dot reticle, and with the 9mm-specific ACSS Gemini 9mm reticle.
