Product Overview

The Magpul AFG is a polymer angled foregrip that mounts to any 1913 Picatinny rail section.

The original angled foregrip — a fuller hand shelf and the recoil-flattening geometry that started the movement.

The Magpul AFG (MAG411) introduced shooters to a simple truth: the support hand controls a carbine best when it sits high on the bore line at a natural wrist angle. The AFG's generous hand shelf and palm swell give the support hand a large, positive landing zone, encouraging the forward-driving hold that flattens muzzle rise and speeds up follow-up shots.

Compared with the slimmer AFG-2, the original AFG offers a fuller, more enveloping shelf that many shooters with larger hands prefer — more contact area, more leverage, same reinforced-polymer durability and TSP texture. Mounted on any 1913 Picatinny rail, it turns technique into hardware.

Why shooters choose the AFG

  • Natural wrist angle — drive the rifle instead of hanging on
  • Full-size hand shelf — maximum contact and leverage
  • Hand high on the bore line — flatter recoil, faster follow-ups
  • Repeatable support-hand placement — consistency you can train on
  • Three finishes — Black, Flat Dark Earth, Olive Drab Green

What the AFG fits

Attaches to any 1913 Picatinny rail section with enough clear rail space for the full grip body, which usually means a quad rail or a decent length of rail ladder on a free-float tube. Measure the clear run of rail where your support hand sits before ordering; M-LOK handguards need a Picatinny rail section fitting first. Set it at your natural support-hand reach and torque down — minutes with basic tools. The M-LOK AFG skips the rail section entirely and mounts straight into M-LOK slots.

Product Questions

Will the original AFG fit my rifle?
It attaches to any 1913 Picatinny rail section with enough clear rail space for the full grip body, which usually means a quad rail or a decent length of rail ladder on a free-float tube. Measure the clear run of rail where your support hand sits before ordering. If your handguard is M-LOK you will need to fit a Picatinny rail section first.
How does the MAG411 compare with the AFG-2?
This original AFG has the fuller shelf of the two, so it gives more hand support and a more pronounced surface to load against. The AFG-2 MAG414 is the slimmer, lower-profile version for shooters who want less bulk under the handguard. Neither changes how you shoot, but the MAG411 tends to feel more supportive with larger hands or a heavier rifle.
Why choose an angled grip at all?
The angle lets you keep the support wrist straight while still having a fixed reference point for the hand, which makes your hold repeatable shot to shot. It is a reinforced polymer moulding, so it is light and comfortable to hold even when the handguard has warmed up. Fitting needs only an ordinary hand tool, and the fastener is worth re-checking after the first outing.
What colours are there and is anything else required?
Black, Flat Dark Earth and Olive Drab Green are the available finishes. Nothing further is needed on a Picatinny handguard; M-LOK users should add a rail section to the shopping list. Have a look through grips and foregrips if you want to compare shapes before deciding.
How does shipping and returns work?
Grips ship from the United Kingdom with £5 tracked UK delivery in 7–10 business days, and you'll get tracking by email when it ships. If a part turns out to be the wrong fit, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
