Product Overview

The Magpul AFG-2 is a polymer angled foregrip that mounts to any 1913 Picatinny rail section.

The angled foregrip that changed support-hand technique — second generation, better everywhere it touches you.

The Magpul AFG-2 (MAG414) puts the support hand high on the bore line at a natural wrist angle, letting you drive the rifle rather than merely hang on to it. With the hand closer to the axis of recoil, muzzle rise flattens and follow-up shots come back on target faster — the measurable advantage that made the angled foregrip a category of its own. Generation two slims the footprint, sheds weight and fits a wider range of hand positions than the original.

The finger shelf and palm support are shaped so the hold is repeatable: your hand lands in the same place every time you mount the rifle, which is precisely what consistent shooting is built on. Reinforced polymer construction keeps it light and durable across any conditions.

Why shooters choose the AFG-2

  • Natural wrist angle — drive the rifle, flatten recoil
  • Hand sits close to the bore line — better recoil geometry than vertical posts
  • Slimmer GEN2 profile — lighter, lower, more hand positions
  • Repeatable hand placement — the foundation of consistency
  • Three finishes — Black, Flat Dark Earth, Olive Drab Green

What the AFG-2 fits

Mounts to any 1913 Picatinny rail section with enough clear length to take the full footprint of the grip — check you have an uninterrupted run of rail where your support hand naturally sits, since the AFG-2 is longer than a small hand stop. M-LOK handguards need a Picatinny rail section adding first. Position it at your natural support-hand reach, torque down with the supplied hardware and train. Alternatively the M-LOK version of the AFG attaches straight into M-LOK slots with no rail section at all.

Product Questions

What rail does the AFG-2 need?
The AFG-2 mounts to any 1913 Picatinny rail section that has enough clear length to take the full footprint of the grip. Check you have an uninterrupted run of rail at the point where your support hand naturally sits, since the AFG-2 is longer than a small hand stop. M-LOK handguards need a Picatinny rail section adding before this grip can be used.
How does the AFG-2 differ from the original AFG?
The AFG-2 is the lower-profile of the two, sitting closer to the handguard so it feels less like an obstacle under the hand. The original AFG MAG411 has a fuller shelf that fills the palm more, which some shooters prefer for a firmer index. Both work the same way in use, so the choice comes down to how much bulk you want under the support hand.
What is the point of an angled grip rather than a vertical one?
An angled grip keeps your support wrist in a more natural, straight position while giving you a defined place to index the hand each time you mount the rifle. That tends to suit a modern thumb-over-bore hold where you are driving the muzzle rather than pulling straight back. It is moulded from reinforced polymer and fits with an ordinary hand tool, so it is a straightforward addition to an existing rail.
Which finish is available and what else might I need?
It comes in Black, Flat Dark Earth and Olive Drab Green so it can be matched to the rest of your furniture. If you are on M-LOK, add a rail section; if you already have Picatinny, the grip and its supplied hardware are all you need. Other Magpul handling options are grouped in Magpul grips and foregrips.
What is delivery like and can I return it?
