Product Overview

The Magpul AFG M-LOK is a polymer angled foregrip that mounts directly into any M-LOK handguard slot, with no rail or adaptor required.

The angled foregrip that changed how shooters drive a carbine — now mounting directly to M-LOK.

The Magpul AFG (Angled Fore Grip, MAG598) places your support hand in a natural, thumb-forward position that improves recoil control and lets you drive the muzzle faster between targets. Rather than gripping vertically, your hand rests along the angle of the forend, keeping the wrist neutral and the rifle pointing where you look. This M-LOK version bolts straight to the handguard with no rail or adaptor.

It is the low-profile control upgrade for shooters who run a modern free-float M-LOK forend and want better handling without adding bulk.

Why shooters choose the Magpul AFG M-LOK

  • Direct M-LOK mount — no rail section or adaptor needed
  • Thumb-forward ergonomics — neutral wrist, faster target-to-target
  • Improved recoil control — drive the muzzle, don't fight it
  • Low, snag-free profile — keeps the handguard slim
  • Five finishes — Black, Flat Dark Earth, Stealth Gray, Modified Coyote Brown, Olive Drab Green

What the Magpul AFG M-LOK fits

Mounts directly to any M-LOK-compatible handguard or forend using the supplied M-LOK hardware — no Picatinny rail or adaptor required. You need a clear run of M-LOK slots where your support hand extends, so plan around lights and other accessories. Set it at that point and torque the hardware. If you want a vertical hold on the same M-LOK interface, that is the MVG vertical grip, or the shorter SVG hand stop.

Product Questions

Will the AFG M-LOK fit my handguard?
It mounts directly to any M-LOK-compatible handguard or forend, so check your forend is genuinely M-LOK rather than Picatinny-only or a different slot standard. Because the AFG sits under the whole length of your support hand, you need a clear run of M-LOK slots at that point — plan around a light or laser already on the forend. No Picatinny rail or adaptor is required.
What does an angled foregrip do differently?
Instead of gripping vertically, your hand rests along the angle of the forend in a thumb-forward position, which keeps the wrist neutral rather than cocked. That gives you better recoil control and lets you drive the muzzle between targets rather than fight it back on to them. It is a handling change more than a comfort one, and it suits the way most shooters run a carbine today.
How does it compare with the Picatinny AFG-2 and with a vertical grip?
The AFG-2 is the Picatinny-mount version of the same angled idea, so choose between them on what your forend actually is rather than on ergonomics. Against a vertical grip such as the MVG, the AFG keeps a lower, snag-free profile and a neutral wrist where a vertical grip gives you a firm hand stop instead. Our guide to AR-15 grips sets the two styles side by side.
Is fitting it straightforward?
Yes — the M-LOK mounting hardware, T-nuts and screws, is supplied. Set the grip where your support hand extends, drop the T-nuts into the slots, turn them and torque the screws down. Nothing about the handguard is permanently changed, and it is worth re-checking the screws after the first range trip.
How will it arrive?
Grips are sent from the United Kingdom with free tracked UK delivery in 7–10 days, and you'll get tracking by email when it ships. If a part turns out to be the wrong fit, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
