Most 1x sights give you an aiming point and stop there; this reticle adds holdovers and a ranging element, so the optic still tells you something useful past the distance where a bare dot runs out of information.
The housing is 6061 aluminium, rated IPX8 and tested to 1000G, and weighs 4.3 oz (123 g). Both mounts are in the box — a 1.63 in lower 1/3 co-witness mount and a 1.05 in low mount — so the sight can sit level with AR irons or down on a flat receiver. Green is the colour the eye is most sensitive to, so the reticle often reads brighter than a red one at the same setting. The trade against a plain dot is clutter: a circle, holdovers and ranging marks are more to look at when a target is close and moving, and Holosun does not publish a load or velocity that the ranging marks are cut for, so treat them as a reference to confirm against your own data.
