The Holosun AEMS Macro Red Dot Sight, AEMS-MACRO-RD, is a 1x enclosed-emitter sight on the 509T footprint, projecting Holosun's Multi-Reticle System from a 650nm red LED.
The window is the reason to buy it. At 0.9 x 0.9 in it is far closer to a rifle sight picture than a mini reflex, and the emitter behind it is sealed, so rain and pocket lint cannot blank the reticle.
The housing is 7075 aluminium, rated IPX8 for immersion and tested to 5000G of vibration, at 2.5 oz (71 g). Power comes from a CR1632 cell rated up to 100,000 hours, backed by Solar Failsafe, with Shake Awake putting the reticle to sleep when the gun is still and Lock Mode stopping the brightness being nudged. There are 12 settings: eight for daylight and four for night vision.
The Multi-Reticle System switches between a 2 MOA dot on its own, a 65 MOA circle on its own, or both together, so one sight covers a deliberate shot and a fast one. Adjustment is 0.5 MOA per click with plus or minus 50 MOA of travel. The honest limitation is size: an enclosed sight with a window this big is taller and heavier than an open reflex, and it needs the 509T footprint underneath it.
