The Holosun AEMS EVO Gold Dot Sight is a 1x enclosed-emitter rifle sight running the Multi-Reticle System in gold — a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or the two together — behind a 1.26 x 0.98 in (32 x 25 mm) window.
Gold sits between red and green on the spectrum at 590nm, and against a washed-out, glare-heavy background it holds contrast where a red dot starts to disappear.
The housing is 7075 T6 aluminium rated IP67, measuring 2.68 x 1.77 x 2.6 in, with the body at 8.15 oz and the supplied Picatinny mount adding 2.45 oz. Adjustment is 0.5 MOA per click with 50 MOA of travel each way, and power comes from a CR2032 rated up to 50,000 hours, backed by Solar Failsafe and put to sleep by Shake Awake when the rifle is still. Brightness runs to 8 daylight settings and 4 for night vision.
The wide, square window is the argument for the AEMS shape: it gives a lot of glass to look through with both eyes open, which makes finding the reticle quick when the rifle comes up. Because the emitter is fully enclosed, rain running down the glass or grit thrown off a wet firing point cannot sit in front of the LED and smear the dot, which is exactly how an open reflex sight fails in British weather. Eye relief is unlimited.
