The SureFire Z68 is the standard click-type pushbutton tailcap for Scout Lights, supplied here in black as part number Z68.
One press gives momentary-on, a further press latches it constant-on. That is the whole interface, and after twenty years of Scout Lights it is still the one most people put back on.
It is machined from aerospace grade aluminium and finished in mil-spec hard anodising, with a raised guard around the button so the light is not switched on by a rifle case or a bag, and a lock-out feature that disables the switch entirely when the tailcap is backed off. The part is supplied on its own, as a tailcap only.
This is the part to order when a tailcap has been lost, damaged, or swapped out for a remote cap that is no longer wanted. SureFire list it for Scout Light weapon lights and flashlights with a 3/4in (0.75in) diameter switch interface, which covers M300 and M600 Scout bodies and compatible E-series-thread bodies. Measure the switch interface rather than going by the model name, because the diameter is what determines whether it threads on.

What the Z68 fits
It threads onto SureFire Scout Light weapon lights and flashlights with a 3/4in diameter switch interface, which takes in M300 and M600 Scout bodies and compatible E-series-thread bodies.
