The Holosun P.ID is a rail-mounted weapon light producing 1000 lumens and 23,000 candela from a single rechargeable 18350 cell.
23,000 candela behind 1000 lumens is a deliberate balance: enough hotspot to reach out, enough spill to see what is stood beside it, which is what identifying something actually asks of a light.
The cell charges in place through a magnetic USB connector on the body, so nothing has to be unscrewed to put power back into it. The housing is 7075-T6 aluminium, hard anodised in black, rated IPX8 and tested to 1500G, and Holosun specifies it from -10 °C to 51 °C. It measures 3.2 x 1.2 x 1.4 in and weighs about 5 oz. It clamps to a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail.
Activation is by pushing the control forward or inward, and the light runs a high and a low mode. Two limits worth being clear about: Holosun publishes an output figure for high only, so treat low as simply dimmer rather than a number you can compare against another light, and the P.ID needs an accessory rail — there is nothing here that will clamp to a frame without one.
Why shooters choose the P.ID
-
Output — 1000 lumens on high
-
Peak beam intensity — 23,000 candela
-
Power — rechargeable 18350 cell, charged in place by magnetic USB
-
Switching — push forward or push inward, with high and low modes
-
Body — 7075-T6 aluminium, hard anodised, IPX8 rated and tested to 1500G
-
Size — 3.2 x 1.2 x 1.4 in, around 5 oz
What the P.ID fits
It mounts to a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny accessory rail, so any host with a rail section forward of the trigger guard will take it. For a tighter beam that trades output for reach, the P.ID HC at 42,000 candela is the throw-focused version, and the compact P.ID-K suits a smaller frame. The rest are in weapon lights.
