The reticle is a 1.5 MOA centre dot inside a 65 MOA circle, with three 1 MOA holdover dots below it and a ranging feature calibrated for M193 5.56 at 3050 FPS, all behind a 26 mm (1.02 in) window. Illumination runs 8 daylight and 4 night-vision settings, and the turrets move 0.5 MOA per click across ±50 MOA. A CR2032 backed by Solar Failsafe is rated up to 50,000 hours, with Shake Awake handling the rest.
The optic body is 6061 aluminium, hard anodised, rated IPX8 and tested to 1000G of vibration. Both a 1.63 in (41 mm) lower 1/3 mount and a low mount come with the sight, and the HM3X sits on an ambidextrous flip-to-side quick-detach mount that swings clear for a plain 1x picture. The limitation is written into the reticle: the ranging marks are calibrated around M193 5.56 at 3050 FPS, so behind another calibre or a different load they become decoration rather than data.

Both units clamp to a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, and the sight's 1.63 in mount aligns it with the magnifier at lower 1/3 co-witness on an AR-pattern flat-top.
