The EOTech Vudu 3-9x32 in this listing is the second focal plane model carrying the MR5 reticle, a MIL-based lattice behind a 32 mm objective, in black.
Three to nine power over a 32 mm objective is the classic stalking and target bracket, and EOTech have kept it genuinely small — 6.8 in and 16 oz, which is less scope on the rifle than the magnification range suggests.
Illumination runs from a CR2032 coin cell and the scope is built in Japan. Field of view at 100 yards is 38 ft at 3x, closing to 12.7 ft at 9x. EOTech do not publish a tube diameter, a click value or a turret travel figure for this model, and rather than repeat numbers from elsewhere we have left all three out — measure the tube against your rings, and count your first zeroing session as the reference for the turrets.
A second focal plane reticle stays the same apparent size whatever the magnification ring is doing, which keeps the MR5 fine and unobtrusive at 9x where a first focal plane lattice would be at its coarsest. The trade is the familiar one: the subtensions are only true at the power EOTech calibrate them to, so a hold read at 5x is not the hold read at 9x. It needs a set of rings or a one-piece mount sized to the tube, and because EOTech publish no tube figure for this model the safe move is to measure before ordering rings.
