This EOTech Vudu 3-9x32, SKU VDU3-9SFHC1, is the second focal plane model carrying the illuminated HC1 MOA reticle behind a 32 mm objective.
Three reticles are offered in this scope and this is the uncluttered one — a hunting aiming point with illumination, rather than a ladder of holdover marks you will spend the season ignoring.
EOTech build the Vudu 3-9x32 in Japan. It is 6.8 in (172.7 mm) long and 16 oz (454 g), with a CR2032 cell powering the reticle illumination. Eye relief runs 2.5 to 3.1 in at 3x and 2.3 to 3.1 in at 9x, and the field of view at 100 yards is 38 ft at the bottom of the range and 12.7 ft at the top.
Because the reticle sits in the second focal plane it stays the same apparent size at every magnification, so it never disappears at 3x in poor light — the reason most stalking and vermin shooters still prefer SFP. The corollary is the honest limitation: the subtensions are only true at one magnification, so if you want to range or hold off at any power, one of the grid reticles will serve you better.
