The EOTech Vudu 1-10x28 in tan is a first focal plane low power variable optic with a true 10x top end and the illuminated SR4 reticle, which works in minutes of angle around a 1 MOA centre dot.
First focal plane is the reason to buy this one: the reticle grows and shrinks with the magnification, so a holdover measured at 4x is the same holdover at 10x and the ranging marks never lie to you.
It is built on a 34mm aircraft-grade aluminium tube with a 28mm objective and EOTech's XC high-density glass, with a locking elevation turret and a capped windage turret that move in 0.25 MOA clicks. Total travel is 100 MOA of elevation and 80 MOA of windage. Illumination runs from a CR2032, the scope measures 10.63 in (270 mm) and weighs 21.3 oz (604 g), and it is waterproof, fog-proof and shock-resistant. This one is finished in tan and made in Japan.
It is a one-optic answer for a rifle that has to shoot a close stage and a distant one without a change of glass, which is why it lands on practical, target and 3-Gun builds. Two things to weigh up: 21.3 oz on a 34mm tube is not a light package, and an MOA reticle only makes sense if you think and call your corrections in MOA rather than milliradians.
