Bought together the two pieces already agree on height, so the magnified image lands centred on the reticle with no shims, no packing washers and no trial fitting.
The sight throws a 68 MOA ring with two 1 MOA aiming dots in red, across 20 daylight brightness settings, and runs from a single CR123 lithium cell rated by EOTech for 1,000 continuous hours. The STS mount clamps to a 1 in Weaver or MIL-STD-1913 rail and detaches by lever. As a complete system it measures 7.9 x 2.3 x 3.3 in (198.1 x 58.4 x 83.8 mm) and weighs 22.4 oz (635 g), and EOTech rates it for submersion to 10 ft (3 m).
The point of the pairing is that neither half has to be a compromise: the holographic sight stays at 1x with both eyes open for close work, and the magnifier swings in behind it when a target needs identifying rather than merely hitting. Swinging it aside is a thumb movement, not a rail job. One honest limitation decides whether this is your kit: the EXPS2-2 is the daylight-only sight and is not night-vision compatible, so anyone shooting behind a night vision device wants an EXPS3-based system instead.

What the HHS II fits
