The SureFire X300U-A Ultra is a compact LED weapon light in black, part number X300U-A, producing 1000 lumens from two CR123A lithium cells.
A TIR lens does the work: it collects almost all of the emitter's output into a tight 11,300 candela beam with enough spill left around it to see what is either side of the thing you are looking at.
The body is aerospace aluminium, approximately 3.76 in (9.5 cm) long and 4.0 oz (113 g) with cells fitted, and rated IPX7 — waterproof to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Beam distance is approximately 213 metres and runtime approximately 1.25 hours on a fresh pair of cells. Switching is ambidextrous, with a toggle either side of the mount.
It attaches through SureFire's Rail-Lock System, which indexes onto a Universal or Picatinny rail and locks with a lever, so it goes on and comes off in seconds without a screwdriver — that is the difference between the A and the B, which uses a screw clamp instead. On a railed pistol, a carbine forend or a railed shotgun it does the same job. It is a primary-cell light, so there is nothing to recharge; keep spare CR123As with it.
