The Streamlight TLR-8 X G, part number 69434 in black, is a compact rail-mounted pistol light with a green aiming laser, producing 500 lumens and 5,000 candela for a 141 metre beam.
Green is the reason to pick this one over the red-laser version: the eye picks a green beam out of a bright background far more readily, which is what makes a daylight laser worth having at all.
The body is machined anodised aluminium, 2.58 in long, weighing 2.64 oz with a CR123A fitted or 2.74 oz with the SL-B9 pack, and rated IPX4 against water. The laser runs at 510 to 530 nm, Class 3R with an output below 5 mW. Power is multi-fuel: one CR123A lithium cell is supplied, and Streamlight's SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable pack will run it instead, giving 1.5 hours on the CR123A or 1 hour on the SL-B9. It mounts through a rail clamp with locating keys covering the common handgun rail patterns.
High and low paddles sit on both sides of the body for momentary or constant-on work with either hand, with a safe-off setting and a strobe that can be enabled or left disabled. It clamps to full-size and compact railed handguns using the supplied locating keys, which cover the common handgun rail patterns.
