Product Overview

The Reptilia AUS Mount is a one-piece riflescope mount for 30mm tube scopes, holding the optic at a 43.2mm (1.70in) bore height on any M1913 Picatinny rail.

One tube diameter, one bore height, one machined body. There is nothing here to shim, stack or align — that work was done on the mill.

Reptilia describe the AUS Mount as the culmination of a two-year development programme driven by an end user group. It is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminium, finished in MIL-STD Type III hardcoat anodising, and clamps to the rail through an anti-snag spring-loaded nitrided steel clamp. This version weighs 165 g (5.8 oz) and takes a 30mm scope tube.

1.70in is the middle height in the AUS range, and it exists for two reasons: a bigger objective bell needs more room over the rail, and a chassis with a raised comb wants the scope to come up to meet it. Reptilia publish 43.2mm as the metric figure and 86mm as the largest objective that will clear a flat-top rail — 9mm more than the 1.54in mount allows. Made in the USA.

Why shooters choose the AUS Mount 30mm 1.70"

  • 30mm tube, fixed — machined for one ring diameter, so the scope beds on metal rather than on shims
  • 43.2mm (1.70in) bore height — chosen at the mill, not adjusted on the rifle
  • One-piece body — rings and base are the same part, so there is no base-to-ring joint to move
  • 165 g (5.8 oz) — billet 7075-T6 aluminium in MIL-STD Type III hardcoat anodising
  • Spring-loaded steel clamp — stays open while you place the mount, then closes flush and anti-snag

What the AUS Mount 30mm 1.70" fits

Fits riflescopes with a 30mm main tube, on any M1913 Picatinny rail — the flat-top receiver of a bolt-action precision rifle, a rail-topped action, or a flat-top AR-pattern upper. Reptilia state that an objective up to 86mm will clear a flat-top Picatinny rail at this height. Tube diameter and bore height are both fixed on this listing and neither is adjustable, so measure your scope's main tube and decide your height before ordering. Reptilia make the same 30mm mount at 1.54in and 1.93in bore heights, and the same 1.70in height for a 34mm tube.

Compatibility & Fitment

Fits 30mm tube riflescopes only, on any M1913 Picatinny rail. Fixed 43.2mm (1.70in) bore height, not adjustable. Objective bells up to 86mm clear a flat-top Picatinny rail. Will not accept a scope of any other tube diameter.

Product Questions

Is the mm figure a height or a tube size?
On an AUS Mount it is the scope tube diameter. This one takes a 30mm tube. Reptilia quote bore height separately, and on this version it is 43.2mm (1.70in). That is the opposite of their ROF and DOT red dot mounts, where the height is the headline figure, so it is worth reading the two numbers carefully before ordering.
Will my scope fit?
Only if its main tube measures 30mm. A one-piece mount is machined to one diameter and cannot be shimmed down or opened out. Check the tube specification from the scope maker rather than measuring with a rule, because 30mm, 34mm and 35mm are close enough to confuse by eye. Objective bells up to 86mm clear the rail at this height, which is 9mm more than the 1.54in version allows.
Which bore height should I choose?
Bore height sets how high your eye has to sit to see through the scope. A lower mount suits a rifle with a conventional stock and a low comb; a taller one suits a raised comb, a chassis with an adjustable cheek piece, or a shooter who wants a head-up position. Reptilia offer this mount at more than one height and they are separate products, because a one-piece mount cannot be adjusted after it is made.
Does it hold zero if I take it off?
The clamp indexes into the rail slots, so return to zero is repeatable when the mount goes back into the same slots on the same rail. Note which slot you were in before removing it, and confirm the zero on paper afterwards rather than assuming it — that is ordinary practice with any Picatinny mount, not a caveat about this one.
How will it arrive?
Optic mounts are sent from the United Kingdom with £5 tracked UK delivery in 7–10 business days, and you'll get tracking by email when it ships. If a part turns out to be the wrong fit, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
