The Radian Takedown & Pivot Pin Set is a precision replacement lower-receiver pin set for AR-15 and M4 rifles, dropping in for the standard Mil-Spec takedown and pivot pins.

Precision takedown and pivot pins that snug up receiver fit and shrug off wear — a small upgrade you feel every time you open the rifle.

The Radian Takedown & Pivot Pin Set replaces the standard Mil-Spec pins with precision-machined, black-nitride-finished steel. The tighter tolerances take slop out of the upper-to-lower fit for a more solid feel, and the hard nitride surface resists the wear and galling that dull factory pins over time.

What the Radian Pin Set fits

Will these pins fit my lower receiver?

They are a direct replacement for standard AR-15/M4 takedown and pivot pins, so any lower machined to standard pin dimensions will take them. Receivers with non-standard pin holes are the exception, so check yours if the lower is an unusual make. No fitting or modification is required.

What does upgrading the pins actually give you?

They are machined to tighter tolerances than standard Mil-Spec pins, which takes slop out of the fit between upper and lower and makes the rifle feel more solid in the hand. The black nitride finish is harder than a plain factory pin, so it resists the wear and galling that make old pins drag and rattle over time. It is a small change you notice every time you open the rifle.

Is it worth doing on its own?

On its own it is one of the cheapest ways to firm up receiver fit, and it is a sensible job to do while the rifle is already apart for something else. It will not change how the rifle shoots — for that you want the fire-control group, and our AR-15 triggers range covers that. The rest of the small parts sit in AR-15 parts and accessories.

Is fitting straightforward?

Yes — the old pins come out and these go in, with no modification to the receiver. The one thing to watch is the detent and spring behind each pin, which are under tension and easy to launch across the room, so work over a tray or a cloth. Nothing needs to be reamed, filed or fitted.
