The Primary Arms GLx 1X MicroPrism, part 710071, is an unmagnified prism sight with a 20.5 mm objective and the ACSS Cyclops reticle etched into the glass, illuminated in red.
A prism sight resolves its reticle through the same corrected optical path as the target, which is why shooters whose eyes turn an LED dot into a smear or a comet get a clean chevron here instead.
The optic is 2.6 in (66 mm) long and weighs 9.1 oz (258 g), sealed to IP67, with an exit pupil of 18.8 mm and 4.40 in of eye relief. Turrets move in 1/2 MOA clicks with 50 MOA of total elevation and 50 MOA of total windage. Illumination runs from a CR2032 lithium coin cell, which Primary Arms rate at 14,925 hours at setting 5, across 13 brightness settings of which 3 are night-vision compatible, with AutoLive motion sensing to shut the illumination down when the rifle is at rest.
The ACSS Cyclops puts a bold horseshoe around a fine centre chevron, so the eye is drawn to the middle at speed up close while the chevron stays precise further out, with ranging references built into the reticle. Because the reticle is etched rather than projected, it stays usable with the illumination off or the cell flat. The trade-off against a red dot is honest: a prism has a fixed eye relief and an eye box to find, where a reflex sight does not, and it is heavier. Mounting is on the Trijicon Mini-ACOG and Primary Arms MicroPrism pattern.
Why shooters choose the GLx 1X MicroPrism
-
Reticle — glass-etched ACSS Cyclops, usable with the illumination switched off
-
Astigmatism — the etched reticle is focused by the optic itself, not projected as an LED dot
-
Illumination — red, 13 settings with 3 night-vision compatible, and AutoLive motion sensing
-
Battery — CR2032, rated at 14,925 hours at setting 5
-
Turrets — 1/2 MOA per click with 50 MOA of elevation and 50 MOA of windage
-
Build — 2.6 in and 9.1 oz (258 g), sealed to IP67, 20.5 mm objective
What the GLx 1X MicroPrism fits
It mounts on the Trijicon Mini-ACOG and Primary Arms MicroPrism footprint, so a mount cut for either pattern will carry it on a MIL-STD-1913 rail at the height you choose. The same optic is made with green illumination, and the SLx line covers the same ground more cheaply with the SLx 1X MicroPrism ACSS Cyclops Gen II. Our optic mount height guide covers picking the deck height.
