The Magpul RSA (MAG502) is a rugged, steel-bodied sling attachment that clamps to any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail and presents a fixed loop compatible with both snap-hook slings and clip-in swivels, including the Magpul Paraclip. Where polymer sling points flex and aluminium loops wear oval, the RSA's steel construction takes decades of loaded carry without complaint.

What does the RSA clamp onto?

It clamps to any 1913 Picatinny rail section, so a handguard rail or a short rail panel is all it needs. Leave enough clear rail for the clamp body once your lights and covers are accounted for. It is a rail attachment only, so an M-LOK-only handguard would need a rail section adding first.

What kind of sling ends will it take?

The RSA is a fixed-loop attachment, so it will take looped slings, snap hooks and QD swivel adapters. That makes it a useful choice if you run more than one sling with different end hardware. If you want a true push-button socket instead, the RSA QD version is the one to look at.

How durable is it and what does fitting involve?

The MAG502 is steel, so it is intended to take the loads a sling puts through a single point. It clamps on with ordinary hand tools; seat it against a rail slot so recoil cannot walk it forward, and check the fastener again after a few outings. There is nothing to service beyond keeping it clean and the screw tight.

Do I need anything else to use it?

Just a sling that can attach to a fixed loop, or a snap hook or adapter if your sling ends in a QD swivel. It is supplied in a single finish, so the decision is mainly where on the rail to mount it. Options for the sling itself are in rifle slings and sling mounts.
