Product Overview

The Magpul QDM is a steel push-button quick-disconnect sling swivel that fits any industry-standard QD sling socket.

The sling swivel that ends fumbling — one-handed mounting, positive lock-up and steel where it counts.

The Magpul QDM Quick Disconnect Sling Swivel (MAG543) is a ground-up redesign of the standard push-button QD swivel. Its manganese-phosphate-finished steel construction and refined button geometry allow genuinely one-handed operation: press, seat, release, locked. No wiggling the swivel to find the socket, no checking whether the bearings actually engaged.

The QDM's low-profile head and smooth, rounded edges keep webbing running freely and stop the swivel chewing at stock furniture. It drops into any industry-standard QD socket — stocks, end plates, handguard mounts — making it the natural upgrade for any sling that shipped with bargain-bin hardware, and the perfect partner to a looped sling that needs a QD interface.

Why shooters choose the QDM Swivel

  • True one-handed mounting — press, seat, locked
  • Steel construction — manganese-phosphate finished for corrosion resistance
  • Positive-lock bearings — no accidental release under load
  • Universal fit — works in any industry-standard QD socket
  • Smooth, low-profile head — kind to webbing and furniture

What the QDM Swivel fits

Built to the industry-standard quick-detach pattern, so it drops into any standard QD socket in a stock, receiver end plate or rail mount. It does not fit plain sling loops or bare Picatinny rail on its own — if your rifle has no QD sockets, add one with something like the M-LOK QD Sling Mount (MAG606). Feed your sling webbing through the loop, click it in, and confirm lock-up with a firm tug.

Product Questions

Will this swivel fit my rifle's sling sockets?
The QDM is built to the industry-standard quick-detach pattern, so it drops into any standard QD socket in a stock, receiver end plate or rail mount. It does not fit plain sling loops or bare Picatinny rail on its own. If your rifle has no QD sockets, you can add one with something like the M-LOK QD Sling Mount.
What is different about the QDM compared with an ordinary QD swivel?
It is a steel push-button swivel with a heavy-duty wire loop rather than a light webbing bar, so it is aimed at slings that see hard use. The wire loop gives sling webbing a smooth, generous bearing surface to rotate on. Everything is steel, which is the main reason it feels more solid in the hand than a lighter alternative.
How do I fit and look after it?
Press the button, push the swivel fully into the socket and release so the ball detents lock; give it a firm tug to confirm it has seated before you carry the rifle. No tools are needed to fit or remove it. Keep the button and detents free of grit and give them a light wipe of oil now and then so the mechanism keeps moving freely.
What else do I need to buy alongside it?
You need a QD socket at each point you want to attach, plus a sling with webbing or a loop that will pass through the wire loop. Many buyers pick up two swivels for a two-point setup. Have a look through rifle slings and sling mounts to put the rest of the set together.
How quickly is it sent out, and can I return it?
Sling hardware ships from the United Kingdom with £5 tracked UK delivery in 7–10 business days and you'll get tracking by email when it goes. If the socket fit is not what you expected, see our returns policy or contact us and we'll help sort it.
