The Magpul MOE SL-M Carbine Stock (MAG1242) is for builders who count grams. It takes the SL family's snag-free geometry, angled rubber buttpad and forward ambidextrous sling mounts, then minimises material everywhere strength allows — producing the slimmest, lightest MOE SL variant Magpul makes. On a lightweight build where every component is chosen deliberately, the SL-M is the stock that completes the maths.

Will the SL-M fit my carbine?

It fits AR15/M4 rifles with a Mil-Spec-diameter carbine receiver extension, the same interface as the rest of the MOE SL family. Commercial-diameter tubes are larger and won't take it, so check yours before ordering. Fitting is an ordinary stock swap on the tube.

What's the point of the SL-M in the range?

It's the lightest stock in the MOE SL series, so it's the one to pick when you're trimming weight off a build rather than adding features. You give up the storage compartment of the SL-S to get there. If your rifle is already front-heavy, saving weight behind the receiver is a sensible place to start.

How does it take a sling?

It has forward ambidextrous sling mounts, so you can run the sling on either side without changing hardware. Mounting the sling forward on the stock keeps it closer to the receiver and out from under the shoulder. Check what your chosen sling's rear attachment needs before ordering.

Which colour, and how does it compare with the SL-S?

Black, Flat Dark Earth and Olive Drab Green are offered. Go for the MOE SL-S if you want the enclosed storage compartment and QD sockets, or stay with the SL-M if light and simple is the priority. Both are listed in Magpul AR-15 stocks.
