The Magpul MIAD GEN 1.1 Grip Kit Type 1 (MAG520) is a modular grip system: interchangeable front straps and back straps let you tune girth, trigger reach and palm swell until the grip fits your hand — not the average of everyone else's. For shooters between glove sizes, or households where one rifle serves several shooters, nothing else on the market solves the problem this cleanly.

The MIAD's removable core also converts the grip interior into secure storage — batteries, spare parts or a firing-pin retaining pin can live in the rifle itself. Construction is Magpul's reinforced polymer with TSP texture, so the fitted result is as durable and grippy as it is personal.

Will this grip fit my rifle?

It's a drop-in replacement for a standard AR15/M4 pistol grip, so it uses the existing grip screw location on the lower receiver. No modification to the receiver is involved. If your rifle isn't an AR pattern, check the grip interface first or ask us before ordering.

What makes the MIAD a kit rather than just a grip?

It comes with interchangeable front and back straps, so you can change the size and shape of the grip to suit your hand rather than accept one fixed profile. Shooters with larger hands can build it out, while smaller hands can slim it down. That means one grip can be tuned rather than replaced if it doesn't feel right first time.

Is there storage in the grip?

Yes, the grip has a removable core, so the cavity can be used to carry small items in the grip rather than in a pocket. The core lifts out for access and clips back in. Nothing else is needed to use it beyond what's supplied in the kit.
