The Holosun HS507COMP Gold Dot Sight, HS507COMP-GD, is a 1x open reflex competition sight on the Trijicon RMR footprint, with a gold 590nm emitter behind an oversized 1.1 x 0.87in window.
Gold is not a styling choice here. Against red-painted steel and orange targets, a red dot can sink into the background at exactly the moment you need to find it, and an amber one does not.
The Competition Reticle System gives a 2 MOA dot on its own or opens the reticle to an 8, 20 or 32 MOA circle, changed on the sight without tools. The housing is 7075-T6 aluminium at 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.3in and 1.7 oz, rated IP67 and tested to 5000G. A side-loading CR1632 is rated at 50,000 hours at setting 6 with Shake Awake and a lock mode, adjustments move in 1 MOA clicks with ±30 MOA of travel, and the sight is parallax-free.
The oversized window is what makes this the competition variant: more glass means the housing intrudes less on the draw and on hard transitions between targets, and the selectable circles let the reticle be sized to the stage rather than to a compromise. Worth knowing before you order: Holosun list no solar panel on this model, so it runs from the cell alone, and being an open reflex it has an exposed emitter rather than a sealed one.
