The EOTech Vudu 5-25x50 is a first focal plane long-range rifle scope carrying the illuminated MD3 reticle in MRAD, on a 34 mm tube with a 50 mm objective.
This is the end of the Vudu line built for distance rather than speed, where dialling elevation and removing parallax matter far more than how quickly the scope comes to the eye.
Turrets move in 0.1 MRAD steps and a side focus takes parallax out at whatever range you are working, which becomes the limiting factor on group size once magnification climbs. The scope is 11.2 in (285 mm) long, weighs 29.5 oz (835 g), runs reticle illumination from a CR2032 and is made in Japan. Field of view at 100 yards runs from 23.3 ft at 5x down to 4.7 ft at 25x.
It suits target and F-Class work, MRAD-based competition and stalking at longer ranges — anyone who prefers to dial a solution rather than hold one. The compromise is at the bottom end: 5x is not a close-range setting, and at nearly 30 oz plus rings this is a scope for a rifle shot from a bipod or a bag rather than carried all day.
