Does this fit any AR-15 lower?

It drops into AR-15/M4 pattern lower receivers that use mil-spec trigger pins, replacing the standard fire control group. Check whether your lower is cut for mil-spec or large pins before you order, as large-pin receivers need a different solution. Nothing has to be machined or permanently altered on the receiver.

Why choose a fixed 3.5 lb (1.6 kg) pull rather than an adjustable trigger?

A fixed weight is set at the factory and stays there, so there is nothing to drift, nothing to recheck before a match, and one less variable to think about. The Competitive is calibrated at 3.5 lb (1.6 kg) total across its two stages, which is a sensible all-round competition weight. If you would rather be able to change the weight yourself, the adjustable models in the TriggerTech range cover that.

How does the two-stage break feel at that weight?

You take up the first stage, come up against the wall, and the second stage breaks with a short movement, with the two stages together making up the 3.5 lb (1.6 kg) figure. That gives you a chance to settle the sights before committing, which is why two-stage triggers are popular for precision and service-rifle style shooting. Expect the wall to be noticeably more defined than a standard mil-spec trigger.

What finishes does the Competitive two-stage come in?

This one has a flat shoe in a stainless and black combination. The same trigger is offered with a PVD black flat shoe, and there is a curved PVD version if you prefer the traditional shoe shape, so you can match the rest of your build. All of them share the same drop-in fitment and reuse your existing trigger pins.
