The Streamlight TLR-3 is a compact rail-mounted pistol light producing 170 lumens and 3,300 candela for a 115 metre beam, on a single CR2 lithium cell.
At 2.32 oz and 2.71 in long, the TLR-3 is about adding as little as possible to the front of a handgun while still putting usable light where the muzzle is pointing.
The body is impact-resistant polymer with an anodised aluminium facecap, rated IPX7. The rail clamp attaches and releases quickly without tools, and the ambidextrous rear switch gives both momentary and steady operation from either side. One CR2 lithium cell, included, runs it for 1.5 hours.
This is the least powerful light in the range and it is meant to be: 170 lumens identifies a target at conversational distance and inside a building without blinding you off a white wall, and the weight saving over a full-size light is obvious the moment the pistol is held out.
