The SIG Sauer ROMEO4XT-PRO, part SOR44001, is a fully enclosed 1x20mm rifle red dot in black, running the Quad Ballistic Circle Dot reticle from a single AAA battery.
A tube with glass at both ends has no open channel for rain, mud or grit to sit in. That, and a battery you can buy in any village shop, is what makes this a sight you stop thinking about.
The reticle centres on a 2 MOA dot within SIG's Ballistic Circle Dot layout, with the Quad version offering selectable patterns for speed or holdover. There are nine daytime brightness settings and three for night vision, adjustment is 0.5 MOA per click, and total travel is 100 MOA in elevation and 100 MOA in windage. The sight is rated IPX8 and weighs 7.4 oz, and a spacer kit is supplied so the deck height can be set to suit the rifle.
MOTAC motion activation is what turns the single AAA into a 50,000-hour figure: the sight sleeps when the rifle is still and lights the instant it moves, so it is effectively always on without being always drawing. If you want the simpler reticle in the same housing, that is a different model rather than a menu setting — the reticle set is fixed at purchase.
