The SIG Sauer ROMEO4T-PRO in Flat Dark Earth is a fully enclosed tube-style 1x red dot sight with a 20 mm objective and the Quad Ballistic Circle Dot reticle around a 2 MOA centre dot.
A closed tube keeps rain, dust and mud out of the optical path altogether, which is the single biggest reason a dot stops working on a rifle that lives outdoors.
It mounts to Picatinny through SIG's hex bolt and spacer system, so the co-witness height is set by which spacer you fit rather than by buying a different mount. The box holds the hex bolt mount, the spacer kit, a CR2032 cell, flip-up lens covers, an anti-reflection device and an adjustment tool. SIG lists the sight at 6.3 oz.
The reticle is selectable, so you can run a bare 2 MOA dot for speed or bring in the circle and holdover references when the shot is longer. MOTAC wakes the illumination on movement and shuts it down when the rifle is still, which is how SIG reaches a 50,000-hour runtime figure from one cell. Twelve brightness levels split nine daylight settings from three for night vision, and the turrets move in 0.5 MOA clicks with 100 MOA of travel on each axis.
