Product Overview

The Reptilia DOT Mount is a one-piece Picatinny optic mount for the Holosun AEMS, placing the optical axis 1.93in (49 mm) above the rail.

The AEMS is an enclosed dot with an open-sight window. This mount puts it at the height your head is already at.

Machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminium with a Milspec Type III hard anodised finish, the mount attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail and carries the AEMS on its own interface. Nitrided 4140 steel hardware does the clamping, and the assembly weighs 60 g (2.1 oz).

The AEMS gives you a sealed emitter behind a square window, which is a lot of usable sight picture for the size — and at 1.93in it comes to the eye with your head upright rather than pressed into the stock. On a UK straight-pull AR-15 shot deliberately, that consistency of head position is worth more than any adjustment a mount could offer. Made in the USA.

What the 1.93" DOT Mount for Holosun AEMS fits

Fits the Holosun AEMS, on any M1913 Picatinny rail including the flat-top upper of a UK straight-pull AR-15. Footprint and height are both fixed: AEMS pattern at a 1.93in optical axis. Standard AR-15 back-up iron sights sit below the window at this height and will not co-witness. An AEMS will not sit on a mount cut for a 507, 508, 509T or RMR, and none of those will sit on this one — the patterns are all different. If you run a magnifier behind it, the RMU Mount 0.39in for magnifiers raises a 3x or 6x to match this height.

Will an AEMS fit an RMR-footprint mount?

No. The AEMS has its own mounting pattern, distinct from the RMR geometry that the Holosun 507 and 508 use and distinct again from the enclosed 509T. This mount is machined for the AEMS specifically, which is why there is no adapter plate involved.

Why 1.93in for this optic?

Because the AEMS is usually bought for a head-up, both-eyes-open style, and 1.93in is the height that supports it — the dot meets your eye without you pressing your cheek down onto the stock. It also leaves room for a helmet, bulky eye protection or a night vision device behind the optic.

Can I run a magnifier with it?

Yes, but the magnifier has to sit at a matching height. A 3x or 6x magnifier in its standard 1.54in mount will be below the AEMS at 1.93in, and the Reptilia RMU Mount 0.39in for magnifiers exists to close exactly that gap.

Is there a lower version?

Not for the AEMS in Reptilia's DOT range — this listing is the 1.93in mount and it is the height Reptilia publish for that optic. If you want a lower sightline you would be changing optic as well as mount, which is a different decision entirely.
