The Magpul PRS GEN3 is a precision-adjustable rifle stock for AR-15 and AR-10 platform rifles, fitting a rifle-length or A5 receiver extension.

The precision stock by which gas guns are judged — the PRS GEN3 is bench-rest engineering for AR-15 and AR-10 platforms.

The Magpul PRS GEN3 (MAG672) is the full expression of the precision rifle stock concept: tool-less micro-adjustable length of pull and cheek height via precision click dials, a massively rigid chassis that gives the rear bag and shoulder a dead-stable interface, and geometry refined across three generations of competitive and professional use. GEN3 fits rifle-length and A5 receiver extensions across AR-15 and AR-10 patterns, wears a rubber buttpad on an adjustable-height plate, and provides the flat, bag-riding underside serious positional shooters expect. It is not compatible with carbine buffer tubes, so if your rifle currently wears a collapsible carbine stock you will need to change the receiver extension and buffer to a rifle or A5 setup first. What receiver extension does the PRS GEN3 need?

The PRS GEN3 fits AR-15 and AR-10 pattern rifles that use a rifle-length or A5 receiver extension. It will not go onto a carbine buffer tube, so if your rifle currently wears a collapsible carbine stock you will need to change the receiver extension and buffer to a rifle or A5 setup first. What makes this a precision stock rather than a general-purpose one?

It is a fixed-position stock designed to be set up once for a particular shooter and shooting position, then left alone. Both length of pull and cheek height adjust without tools, so you can dial in eye alignment behind a scope and repeat that position every time you mount the rifle. That fixed, solid platform is what makes it popular for bench, prone and precision work rather than fast carbine handling.

How do the adjustments work in practice?

Length of pull and cheek height are both tool-less on the GEN3, so you can make changes on the firing point without digging out an Allen key. The usual approach is to set the cheek height for a natural head position behind your optic first, then adjust length of pull so the trigger falls comfortably under your finger. Once you have found your setting, note it down so you can return to it after cleaning or transport.

Which colour options are there, and is there a lighter alternative?
