The sealed window is the point. On an open-emitter optic, lint, rain or a smear of gun oil sitting in front of the LED will dim or blank the dot, and that is the one failure mode this design removes entirely.
The body is 7075-T6 aluminium, 1.63 x 1.07 x 0.95in and 1.23 oz, rated IPX8 and tested to 5000G. A side-loading CR1620 gives up to 50,000 hours with Solar Failsafe behind it and Shake Awake motion activation, and the tray means the cell changes without unbolting the sight or losing zero. Adjustments move in 1.5 MOA steps with ±30 MOA of travel, and illumination runs to 8 daylight settings and 4 night-vision settings.
The Multi-Reticle System is the reason to take this variant over a fixed-dot EPS Carry: press the buttons and the sight gives a 2 MOA dot alone, a 32 MOA circle alone, or both together as a circle-dot, so it can be set fine for slow work or open for speed. Read the mounting pattern carefully, though. Holosun list the sight on the K footprint and supply an RMSc-to-K adapter plate with it, so an RMSc-cut slide is catered for by the plate rather than by the optic body directly.
