The Daniel Defense Micro Mount is a Rock & Lock optic mount for Aimpoint Micro-footprint red dots, giving absolute or lower 1/3 co-witness on a flat-top AR-15 upper receiver.
Both heights in one box — the lower 1/3 spacer is included, so you decide at the bench rather than at the checkout.
Most micro red dot mounts make you choose a height before you have ever looked through the optic on your own rifle. This one does not: it gives absolute or a lower 1/3 co-witness with your backup iron sights, and the magnesium alloy spacer that raises it is supplied. Fit it, shoulder the rifle, and change your mind if you want to.
A recoil lug interface sits between the mount and the optic, so the red dot is located positively rather than relying on clamping friction alone, and the body is snag-free and reversible. Attachment is Daniel Defense's patented Rock & Lock system onto the receiver rail. The mount is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium and Military Specification Type III hard-coat anodised, weighs 1.5–1.8 oz (43–51 g) depending on configuration, and is made in the USA.
On a UK straight-pull AR-15 the optic is usually the most expensive thing on the rifle, and the mount is what decides whether its zero survives being taken in and out of a slip. A positively located mount earns its place.

It mounts to a flat-top AR-15 upper receiver rail, including UK straight-pull AR-15 builds. Use it without the spacer for absolute co-witness with standard AR-15 iron sights, or with the supplied magnesium alloy spacer for a lower 1/3 co-witness. Check your optic's footprint rather than its brand — a dot on a different footprint will not sit on this mount.
