Fixed iron sights with a party trick — Daniel Defense's Rock & Lock set installs and removes in seconds, and holds zero like it's welded.

The Daniel Defense AR-15 Iron Sight Set pairs fixed front and rear sights machined from 6061-T6 aluminium with DD's patented Rock & Lock attachment system: rock the sight onto the Picatinny rail, lock it down, and it returns to position so repeatably you can strip and refit the set without losing zero. Type III hard-coat anodising protects the sights through years of service.

Fixed sights have no springs to fatigue, no hinges to fail and no deployment step to fumble — the reason many professionals still prefer them for dedicated iron-sight rifles and hard-use backups. At roughly 2.8 oz for the pair, the weight cost is negligible.

What do these sights mount to?

The set mounts to 1913 Picatinny rails using the Daniel Defense Rock & Lock attachment, which hooks onto the rail and clamps down rather than simply sliding on. You will need enough continuous rail at both the front and rear positions, so a flat-top upper with a rail-topped handguard is the usual setup. Check that your handguard rail sits at the same height as the receiver rail, otherwise front and rear will not line up.

Are these folding sights?

No, this is a fixed front and rear set, so they stay upright at all times. That makes them well suited to a dedicated iron-sight rifle, or as a permanently deployed backup where you do not mind the sight picture sitting in front of an optic. If you want sights that fold down out of the way under a scope, a folding backup set is the better choice.

What are they made from?

Both sights are machined from 6061-T6 aluminium with a Type III hard-coat anodised finish, which is the same class of finish used on quality rail systems. The set weighs approximately 2.8 oz in total, so they add very little to the rifle. They are made in the USA.

What else do I need to run them?

Nothing beyond suitable Picatinny rail space front and rear, since the Rock & Lock hardware is part of the sights. You will want a hand tool for the clamps and should zero the rear after fitting.
